Get Rid of Artificial Sweeteners! My #1 Diet "Secret"

Sarah Walls

Artificial sweeteners are BAD. Very, very bad. But, I continued to consume them long after I knew that. Why? I guess because I like sweet stuff.

But, when you are pregnant and understand that everything that passes through you, also passes through that developing fetus you start to make some changes for the better!

When I was pregnant with my second child I removed all artificial sweeteners. Opting for, on the rare occasion I added a sweetener to anything, for real sugar of some variety.

I kept up with the habit after giving birth and found I had really lost the "taste" for these chemicals I had once craved. So, I kept with it.

Over time, I noticed I didn't really ever crave anything sweet. At least not like I used to. I realized I'd not only lost the taste for the artificial stuff, but for the intensely overpowering sweetness that comes with many candies, cakes, sodas, juices, etc. Turned out a piece of fruit was usually plenty to satisfy my tastebuds.

The result of this - over years - is that I've consumed far fewer super sugary trash foods. This has probably saved tens of thousands of terrible calories from entering my system. Thus making it easier to maintain a desirable body weight and composition while not having to fight the intense uphill battle against cravings.
